Privacy Policy
Holdclose ("Holdclose," "we," "us") is a caregiving app published by JCSV One LLC, dba Juno Code Studio. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions? Email jcsvonellc@gmail.com.
Holdclose is a wellbeing tool for caregivers, not a medical service or a healthcare provider. We are not a HIPAA "covered entity," and using Holdclose does not create a doctor–patient relationship. You decide what information to put into the app.
The short version. Holdclose stores the care information you enter (which can include health details) plus your Google/Apple sign-in. We use it to run the app and your shared Care Circle. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising. You can delete your account and all its data anytime from Settings → Delete account (or email us). Questions: jcsvonellc@gmail.com.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive a basic account identifier and, depending on what you allow, your name and email address. We do not receive or store your Google/Apple password.
Care information you provide
Holdclose stores what you choose to enter about the person you care for and your caregiving, which may include health-related information, such as: a loved one's name, age, and any diagnosis or conditions you record; medications and schedules; appointments; journal entries, notes, and a health log; an emergency/handoff card (allergies, contacts, advance-directive status); and any photos or voice notes you attach.
Care Circle information
If you create or join a Care Circle, the care information for that loved one is shared with the family members you invite, and is synced through our servers so everyone stays up to date.
Technical & diagnostic information
We may process limited technical data needed to run and secure the service (for example, a session token and basic error/diagnostic information). We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
2. How we use information
- To provide the app's features — the assistant, medication and appointment tracking, journal, emergency card, and Care Circle.
- To sync your Care Circle so invited members see the same information.
- To keep the service secure and to diagnose and fix problems.
- To respond to your support requests.
The in-app assistant is grounded in your care data so its guidance fits your situation. It is constrained to wellbeing support — it does not diagnose, recommend medications or doses, or make prognosis claims.
The assistant & third-party processing
To power the assistant, the relevant care information needed to answer your request is sent to a third-party AI service provider that processes it on our behalf to generate a response. That provider acts as our processor under contract, is not permitted to use your information for its own purposes, and we do not use your information to train AI models.
3. How your information is stored
Your care information lives on your device and, for Care Circle features, is synced to our backend (operated on Cloudflare) so it can be shared with the members you invite and restored if you reinstall. Sign-in tokens are kept in your device's secure storage, and data sent to our servers is encrypted in transit.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only:
- With people you invite to your Care Circle.
- With service providers who help us run the app, under obligations to protect it — for example, cloud hosting (Cloudflare), the third-party AI provider that powers the assistant, and sign-in providers (Google, Apple).
- For legal reasons, if required by law or to protect the safety, rights, or property of users or the public.
5. Your choices and rights
- Edit or delete data at any time inside the app.
- Delete your account from Settings → Delete account, which removes your account and associated data from our systems. If you've already uninstalled, email jcsvonellc@gmail.com and we'll delete it for you.
- Access or export — contact us and we'll help with requests permitted by applicable law (including, where they apply, rights under laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA).
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your associated data, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations.
7. Children's privacy
Holdclose is intended for adult caregivers and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. (Information you enter about a person you care for is care data you control, not data we collect from that person.)
8. Medical disclaimer
Holdclose does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and is not a substitute for professional care. Always consult a qualified clinician for medical questions. In an emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number).
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
